Choosing More Energy

Well, I finished cleaning my home office. It ended up taking 2 half days and one full day. I had notes and workshop stuff stacked up here and there and everywhere. Years of scheduling myself from one thing to the next without sufficient time to put away the last class taught along with no real organized way of storing weird stuff . . . well, it was something.

Good news is that I got to sort through a ton of stuff. Letting a bunch of stuff go that I no longer had use for and reviewing a ton of old classes and lessons that I’d previously taught. Some of those classes were poorly attended, but really way-cool stuff. Maybe it just wasn’t time yet, or maybe I had some spiritual growing to do. Either way, I can revisit those things and present them as I’m led to do so.

I was amazed at how much energy it took to look through things. Each piece of paper had to be examined. Each notebook required scrutiny. Each packet of workshop handouts had to be evaluated. I must have made a million decisions throughout the process.

It’s amazing to me how much energy I have as a result!

We harbor so much material in limbo without making a decision on it. Making a decision releases a ton of energy. It seems like it would be the opposite. On some levels, I was really tired after making all those decisions and yet, it unlocked a huge amount of energy that, unknowingly, had been blocked!

We hold back from making decisions thinking those decisions are “too hard” for us. We delay moving forward because we don’t want to make a mistake. When really, the only mistake we make is doing nothing. It’s actually not even doing nothing, it’s less than nothing. There are vast energy stores blocked because we are afraid to move forward.

Certainly, we can list pros and cons to a decision and make the best one we can. We drag our feet on that because it feels like that would be hard. Yet, we have that information within us. We know both sides. We might even discover more that we know that we didn’t know we knew!

What happens sometimes is our head and our heart don’t seem to agree. Do I keep this or throw it away. My brain says it’s just crap and my heart says, “That friend gave it to me! I cherish it!” So, I kept a bunch of what my mind judged as crap and feel really good about it. I let go of a bunch of stuff that my brain said I should keep because, “I might need that someday.” If I truly need that, I’ll acquire it again – maybe in a different form.

The point is, keep it or don’t. Doesn’t matter. Just decide. It’s the deciding that breaks loose the blocked energy. Do it or don’t. Doesn’t really matter in the long run. Just decide. Even “mistakes” are actually great opportunities for blessings, lessons. and insights as yet unknown.

What are you hanging on to? If you choose to cling to something, clearly choose that option – find its value and cherish it. If you decide to move on, do that! Either way, you release blocked energy and have restored vitality to do something of value.

Be brave. Make a choice.
