I was planting flowers last Spring (here it is Fall again) and broke a stem off one of my plants. Well, rather than throw it away, I decided to stick it in the ground and give it a chance. I watered it with vitamin water to assist it in growing roots. More than once either Phil or I thought to yank it up as it was just sitting there looking all wilted.

A couple of days ago, I happened to notice a spot of color next to a piece of driftwood. Lo and behold, the little stem was blooming! As I got closer, I could see that it had lots of little branches and leaves. How delightful!

It was only a snapdragon. Whether you get them from seed or from starts in the Spring, they are pretty cheap, so why were Phil and I so delighted? Because it lived! Because it could and it did bloom! We didn’t give up on it and it didn’t give up either!

Our dreams can be like that little flower. We take a chance. Plant our ideas in fertile ground. We water them with our intentions and invest our time. Sometimes it feels like dreams must be abandoned. Sometimes it feels like we have to start over—sometimes we do. Yet, sometimes the dreams take hold and begin to grow even when we are not looking. They get rooted into our awareness and into our actions.

Sometimes, the best thing we can do for a dream is to set it and forget it for a while. Let God do God’s part. Phil is the King of Manifesting and that’s what he does. He sets his intent and lets it go. If there is action to take, Spirit brings it to his attention, and he does the next right thing. And then he lets go of it again. Phil has manifested some of the most amazing things! A job he loved. A great retirement package. Amazing cars that were out of our price range. Overcoming a major health issue (bone spurs in his feet vanished) - to name a few!

What dreams do you have planted? Have you cleared a place in your life for them? Have you watered them with intent? Have you held on to the dream and let go of the anguishing about it? Have you listened to Spirit’s nudge?

What about people in our lives? Sometimes we have dreams for them that they don’t yet dream for themselves. Have we cleared the space for their growth? Meaning, have we let go of criticism and trying to force our will upon them? Have we stated a clear intent for our part and allowing for God to do God’s part? Meaning, have we set clear boundaries? Have we held onto the dream of their being blessed and let go of anguish about it?

Dreams do come true! Maybe it’s time for a new dream to bloom.

Dream On!!!
