The timing of a person’s passing can be a time of great mystery. Why is it, some people have a slight illness and pass away and others endure horrific health issues for many years? Isn’t it odd that people are struck down in their prime while others live a much longer life?

I believe that we all have “Exit Points” along the way. Our soul/spirit has the opportunity to choose out or to choose in. We don't always see those exit points yet some are more than obvious - the near-fatal car accident, the life-threatening illness. Those opportunities are presented so that we can begin something new on a new plane of existence.

While the human will may wish to perish, but (as those who are depressed and wish life to end ) the soul/spirit can endure a great deal before it releases the breath of life. The human being may wish to live, but when the soul/spirit has completed all that it came here to do it returns to “All That Is.

So, do we have any choice in the matter? I believe our soul/spirit is given opportunities to Exit. We are given Exit Points.

What is an Exit Point? An Exit Point is a moment given to the soul/spirit to choose. That moment of choice can look like a near-miss accident or a serious health issue. It could be one of those experiences that leave us feeling like we are very lucky to be alive. Ever had one of those? More like, how MANY of those have you experienced?

Those Exit Points have a powerful spiritual significance. Often our destiny has been fulfilled (at least as far as the soul/spirit is concerned) or we have achieved some measure of success or acceptance, or we have been stuck in a pattern from which we are ready to be released. If the soul chooses to remain in this life-line/time-line, then it experiences a “Living Reincarnation” wherein it accepts a new destiny or a new focus for life.

Things that may have been of primary importance no longer matter or don’t matter to the same level of interest. We get to take the lessons already learned and move beyond where we are into a more enriched experience of life with a greater spiritual significance. This gives the soul/spirit a re-birth of sorts without having to go through the dying process and infancy in a new life (for those who embrace the concept of reincarnation).

"Living Reincarnation" - an opportunity to be and do something new and different without having to perish changes everything. We reinvent ourselves in such a way that we aren't the same person at all. We may even choose to change our name or even change our face (or other body parts) surgically. We utilize an Exit Point to propel us into life-altering change. Because we are ready for it. Our soul/spirit released the old way of being and is now moving into a new state of being.

For some those changes cannot happen fast enough. (Isn't it interesting and ponderable that those that are urgently wishing to die, don't. And those that long for more time are faced with their own mortality? Hmm)

You may look back on your own life and recognize that you may have changed careers or experienced a big move right after one of those “near-miss” situations.

How do you know what to do with that Exit Point experience? The soul/spirit knows what it is ready to receive, know, and do . . .even if you don’t!

Someone dear to me, my brother, recently lost their loved one to a long dance with cancer. After my sister-in-law’s passing, my brother declared he couldn’t live without her. He said it over and over. We took a workshop together called the Sedona Method. This gave him an opportunity to look at life - and what his life was going to be - in a new way. He then was able to say, “I don’t like it, but I’m going to find a way to live without her.”

Right after that trip, he took another trip and ended up getting a bad chest cold while he was gone. When he got himself to the doctor, he was told that fluid was building up in his lungs. There was no pneumonia, just the fluid.

I firmly believe that if he hadn’t shifted his thinking, that pneumonia could have taken hold more easily and he could have perished. It was an Exit Point. Since that time, he has been doing a lot of shifting. He is not the same person he was 6 months ago.

Sometime ago, I experienced an Exit Point. It wasn’t an accident or an illness, but it was powerfully life changing none-the-less! I was resting and realized I wasn’t breathing. I wasn’t afraid. I didn’t feel the need to draw a breath. It was very peaceful. (I don’t believe this was just a sleep apnea experience – I believe it was different than that.)

A visual of Phil and our pets and our grandchildren appeared in my consciousness. A voice said to me, “Are you willing to live for them?”

I thought about Phil. About how much he loves me and how much I love him. I thought about my grandchildren and my pets and how much I love them. Now I'm not sure how much was conscious thought or was just an acknowledgment of the idea. It didn't seem to be an active consideration, just an awareness of my loving connection with my beloved, Phil my family and my pets.

So, I said, “Yes, I am.”

The voice said, “Then breathe deeply.”

I sucked in a deep breath and went back into a deep sleep.

Sometime later, I awoke to realize that, again, I wasn’t breathing again. I still felt wrapped in a peaceful state of being. I was shown The Divine Fellowship building and its people. The voice now said, “Are you willing to live for these?”

This time I found myself aware of The Divine Fellowship and how much love was there for me to give and receive. More time. Again the voice, “Are you willing to live for these?” I became aware of information that I have not yet shared with others and I said, “Yes, I am.”

The voice said, “Then breathe deeply.”

I did. And feel back into a deep sleep.

I don't know how much time passed when I awakened again to know that the breath of life was still within me, though I wasn’t inhaling nor exhaling at that moment. Like my world was suspended. Peace still accompanied me.

A voice again asked me if I was willing to live for a specific purpose. I cannot remember what I was asked. As I remember back, I recall feeling a sense of anticipation.

Again, I agreed to live.

The voice then revealed to me that there would be challenges with this new life and asked, “Are you willing to accept these challenges along with this new purpose?”

I said, “Yes, I am.”

The voice said, “Then breathe deeply.”

As I breathed again, I could feel the normal rhythm of life’s breath return to me and I drifted off into a restful and relaxed sleep. (Sometimes, I think I experience these things so that I can share them with others so we all can have a greater understanding of who we are spiritually.)

When I awoke again, I felt fine and recalled the experience clearly – all except the third request. I figure my soul/spirit knows, and with God’s help will direct my journey to fulfillment. There have been challenges already on this path, along with some great blessings.

So..... I believe I was offered an Exit Point and was my choice to stay was honored. I believe the soul/spirit has an agreement with God (Spirit, Source, whatever that is for you) and knows the lessons it came here to learn. The soul/spirit also knows the lessons it came here to participate in teaching others. When the lessons are done, the soul is ready to move on. We may want to live and do more things, yet if the soul has completed its tasks - fulfilled its contract with Spirit, the soul/spirit will set up an Exit Point. If we are done with this life and our soul's contract isn't, it's not going to set up an Exit Point no matter how much we stamp our feet and demand out.

If you have experienced an Exit Point, rest easy, knowing that your soul has chosen to carry you further in this life and to bless you with new experiences and more opportunities for love and joy.

If you haven’t experienced an Exit Point yet, rest easy knowing that now you will know what it’s all about and can face the experience with the power of the soul/spirit fully aware and armed with hope and positive anticipation.

An Exit Point is a gift from God as it offers the soul a release of this life path and its challenges and struggles. Choosing in or choosing out grants us great blessings either way the soul/spirit decides.

We can now also allow others their journey, even if we would hold on to them longer in this life. We miss them. However, their soul/spirit is fulfilling its destiny. The soul/spirit will override our personal preferences for life or death. The soul/spirit knows its truth and journeys into Love and Light whether it chooses to remain or chooses to cross over into spiritual realms.

If the soul is staying here, then there are wonderful things yet to come. If the soul is getting ready to exit then there are wonderful things yet to come! Either way, we win! How cool is that?!?

I believe that I'm in bonus time. I hope to make the most of it and do my best. Maybe I'll have years yet to live. Maybe I'll have another Exit Point tomorrow. Either way, I'm choosing to live what life I have with love, kindness, compassion and power. The power is there for each of us to wield in a good way.

How about you? You ready for a bonus round?

You can consciously create for yourself “Living Reincarnation” without the necessity of an Exit Point. Your power of choice wields great power. Start making the changes your desire now. Begin that new way of being now. That fresh start need not be traumatic nor difficult. Your conscious moment-to-moment choice of awareness allows the journey to unfold. The trick rests within knowing what we really desire and require . . . stay tuned for an article about that coming soon.
